5 c water
the juice of 4 lemons
the zest of 1/2 a lemon
4 T raw sugar
6 T boiling water
8 large ice cubes
6 basil leaves
Boil 1 cup of water. Place the sugar in a pyrex measuring cup and add 6 T boiling water. Stir until dissolved. In a large ceramic or glass pitcher add water and simple syrup. Stir to combine. Next add the lemon zest, lemon juice and ice. Roughly chop basil leaves with scissors and garnish. Enjoy!
